If you’re looking for something to fill your afternoons and evenings when you’re not studying, Malta will not disappoint this October with plenty going on all month. Here are some highlights.
Diving
A world record 60-hour dive challenge (3rd – 5th October) is being attempted by Sean McGahern accompanied by World Record Diving Malta who will clean debris from the sea bed to raise environmental awareness and encourage marine preservation. Comedy
Fancy a laugh? Join international comedians Stuart Goldsmith, Felicity Ward and David Fulton at the LOL Stand-Up Comedy Show (5th – 6th October).
Culture
The Garden of Knowledge Malta Association are presenting an Indian Film Festival (1st – 6th October) to celebrate cultural diversity and promote links between Malta and India. For a more locally focussed experience, the Primal Inspirations art exhibition (4th October – 2nd November) showcases art capturing rural Malta. Valletta is once again host to Notte Bianca on 5th October when the city comes alive in a spectacular celebration of people, culture, food and arts. Iljieli Skalin (19th – 20th October) is a chance to enjoy exhibitions, music and food around St. Thomas Tower and an excursion to the fortifications of Marsaskala.
Sports
The annual Mdina Grand Prix (10th – 13th October) is being held in the stunning location beneath the Bastions of Malta’s old capital city and is not to be missed for motor sports enthusiasts. For football fans, there is an opportunity to cheer on your host country when Malta face the Czech Republic in a World Cup qualifying match at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium on 11th October.
