It’s official: the first Maltalingua boat party of the summer is pencilled in for Friday 19 June 2026. We’ll be sailing out on a traditional Turkish gulet, leaving in the afternoon and running on into the evening. It’s the season opener, and it sets the tone for the whole summer programme.
Lessons finish at 15:00 that Friday
Our academics team is shifting the timetable so that every class on Friday 19 June finishes at 15:00. That gives you time to head back, get changed, and make your way down to the boat without rushing. Your teacher will confirm the exact timings during the week.
What to expect
A few hours out on the open sea, swimming stops at one of Malta’s quieter bays, food and a bar on board, and music as the sun starts to drop. You’ll be on deck with classmates from across the school, different levels and different countries, all of you speaking English because it’s the one language everyone shares.
That’s the part that catches most students by surprise. Three hours on a gulet does more for your fluency than another grammar lesson, because you’re not practising English, you’re using it.
Bring
- Swimwear and a towel
- Sunscreen, and reapply it often
- A light layer for the evening
- A change of clothes
- Cash for the bar
Food and soft drinks are included. The social-programme team will confirm the final boarding point and time a few days before.
