We’ve just received the 2026 Excellence Award from LanguageCourse.Net — and we think it’s worth explaining why this particular award means a lot to the team.
Awarded by students, not panels
Most industry awards are decided by judges, peer nominations, or self-submitted applications. The Excellence Award works differently. It’s awarded purely on the strength of independent student reviews submitted to LanguageCourse.Net, one of the world’s largest language course booking agencies. Every student who books a course through them is invited to submit a detailed evaluation afterwards — covering the teaching, the staff, the accommodation, the activities, and the overall experience.
The award is then given only to schools whose cumulative student ratings sit in the very top tier globally. No marketing spend, no testimonials we’ve picked ourselves — just the honest experience of the students who actually came to Malta, studied with us, and went home.
That’s what makes it worth talking about.
What our students actually say
Read through the reviews and a few themes come up again and again:
- Small class sizes matter. Our maximum of 12 students per class is not a marketing line — it’s the thing students mention most often when they describe why they could actually speak English by the end of their stay, not just read it.
- The teachers make the difference. Our academic team is EAQUALS-accredited, which means an internationally recognised standard of teaching quality, continually audited. But students rarely talk about accreditation in reviews. They talk about the specific teacher who noticed they were struggling and stayed behind to help.
- The school feels like a community. Between the rooftop pool, the central St Julian’s location, the activity programme, and the accommodation options, students repeatedly describe Maltalingua as a place where they made friends — not just a classroom they attended.
A note on what this doesn't mean
It doesn’t mean we get everything right every time. It doesn’t mean we can stop listening. What it does mean is that, across hundreds of independent reviews from students of every age, nationality, and course type, the cumulative judgement has been consistently positive — enough to place us among the very top-rated language schools in the world.
We’re grateful for that feedback, and we take it as a reason to keep raising the standard.
