Malta does not close down when the summer crowds go home. The sea stays warm enough to swim into November, the buses empty out, and St Julian’s goes back to feeling like a town rather than a resort.
For adults who want a calmer place to study, November and December are the quietest months of our year. This autumn they come with two free upgrades attached.
Why Autumn Suits Adult Learners
Summer here is busy and young. Autumn is neither. The people who come in November and December are mostly working adults, career changers and travellers with time to spend, and that changes the tone of a classroom.
Adult classes at Maltalingua never go above 12 students at any point in the year, and in autumn they often run smaller than that. Fewer people in the room means more speaking time each.
The Autumn Double Upgrade
Book a November or December 2026 stay by 30 September 2026 and we will upgrade two things at once, at no extra cost:
- Your room. From a shared twin to your own private room in our school apartments.
- Your course. From Standard General English at 20 lessons a week to Intensive at 30 lessons a week.
Nothing comes off the price and there is no code to enter. Both upgrades depend on availability, and both are written into your quotation before you pay anything.
Your Own Room Instead of a Twin
Our school apartments are shared and self-catering, five to twenty minutes’ walk from the school in St Julian’s and Sliema. A twin room means sharing with one other student. The upgrade puts you in a private room instead, with the same fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and weekly change of bed linen.
Autumn apartments are quieter in any case, with fewer students per flat than in July or August, so the private room lands in a calmer building. There is more on what to expect in our guide to student accommodation in Malta.
Intensive Instead of General English
Standard General English is 20 lessons a week and runs in the morning. Intensive is 30 lessons a week, adding afternoon sessions built around speaking and fluency practice.
Those ten extra lessons are the part students most often ask to add later, once they have arrived and settled into their level. Taking the upgrade now means the timetable is already set when you land.
What Malta Is Like in November and December
Mild, mostly. Autumn is Malta’s wetter season, but the rain tends to arrive in short bursts rather than settling in for days, and plenty of afternoons stay bright enough to sit outside.
The rooftop pool and terrace stay open, Valletta and Mdina are walkable without queues, and December brings Christmas lights across the islands. Public holidays fall in December, so check your dates with us when you book. Our seasonal guide compares the months in more detail.
